Constantly keeping a keen eye on the laser and, more recently, the Super Intense Pulsed Light Technology - it is our belief that manufacturers are now catering appropriately for people wanting permanent hair removal.
You can be rest assured the equipment and machines used at Rapport Beauty are second-to-none. They have been comprehensively studied before choosing what is deemed to be the most appropriate and up-to-date SIPL EsteLux technology.
Super Intense Pulsed Light produces a specially filtered visible light that is absorbed by the pigment in the hair, and converted into heat, destroying the hair follicle without burning the surrounding tissue. This causes the hair growth to be significantly impeded or eliminated. Generally, four to six treatments are needed to provide long-term hair removal.
Super Intense Pulsed Light is limited to treating only those hairs containing melanin (pigment). Therefore, blonde or grey hair will still need to be treated with electrolysis.
Damage to the hair follicle can remove unwanted hair permanently; however, because of the nature of our hair and the many factors that influence its growth, the results for permanent hair removal are variable.
Yes, when performed by a skilled technician such as Kerry. All clients are required to undergo a patch test to determine the skin type and hair suitability. You will then receive the treatment(s) with minimal skin reaction and correct after-care instructions.
Most people can, although some individuals may need a referral from their doctor. A consultation will assess your suitability and skin type in preparation for the treatment.
Most areas of the face and body can be successfully treated following a thorough consultation. The most common treatment areas for women are the face, underarms and bikini line. Whereas men prefer treatment on the back, chest, shoulders, between the eyebrows, upper cheeks and the beard area.
Due to the speed of the SIPL system, it is also ideal for large body areas such as the legs and forearms.
Most people tolerate the treatment without any pain; however, ice-packs can be put on the treated area.
You may require a minimum of 5-10 treatments depending on the individual's hair growth.
Super Intense Pulse Light is renowned for its skin rejuvenating effects and vascular blemish reduction. Solar lentigines and pigmented lesions fade with a minimal amount of treatment. Often, only a single session is all that's needed with the recovery process being very minimal.
Rapport Beauty offers a simple yet effective treatment procedure for sun damaged chests, décolletage and faces. All other parts of the body in particular, the hands and forearms are treated most successfully.
SIPL is non-invasive, meaning the pulsed light penetrates through the skin without breaking or damaging the surface layers. Results can be visible after the first treatment and continue to improve over a period of three to four weeks. SIPL skin-rejuvenation reduces the visible signs of aging and is suitable for all skin types be that male or female.
The treatments are explained in full and we will talk to you of any concerns you may have. You will also undergo a compulsory patch test to ensure the treatment is suitable for you.
Treatments are completely confidential and private. A patch test fee of $55.00 applies.

Super Intense Pulsed-Light not only permanently reduces unwanted hair, it treats a range of skin conditions, producing smoother, more even-toned and youthful skin.
Kerry Gilmore, a qualified beauty therapist and electrologist, is now offering Super Intense Pulsed-Light skin damage treatments at Rapport Beauty, her well-established salon in Newport on Sydney's Northern Beaches.
Photo Rejuvenation can successfully treat uneven pigmentation, age spots and broken capillaries on the face and legs, birthmarks and vascular lesions such as Rosacea. It can also be used to improve coarse skin with enlarged pores and reduce the signs of ageing and sun damage, including fine wrinkles and freckles.
The Super Intense Pulsed-Light system produces a beam of highly concentrated light that breaks up the pigment in a variety of skin lesions. It is safe and non-invasive and, unlike laser treatments, there is no disruption to the skin surface and therefore no need for wound healing. There is a temporary reddening of the treated area that lasts for a few hours and pigmented lesions will darken slightly after treatment, then fade away after 10 to 14 days. Visible veins usually go pale straight away, then fade after 10 to 14 days.
Treatments are quick and virtually painless, and up to 10 times faster than laser treatments. Photo Rejuvenation produces smoother, more even-toned and youthful skin with low risk and no restriction of normal activities.
